guten Morgen Hose
This short video opera is an expression of elements and fragments buried somewhere in the german mind of the later era. There is an air of unwilling absurdity working its way to the surface through layers of self hatred, prejudice and a mercyless exposure of ideas from the super banal to the embarrassing, highlighted by an ecclectic mix of orchestral avantguarde samples and folksy dilly dallying, that are in some strange way enlightening. Andreas Dorau stars in this highly fragmented and sample heavy opera, as the father named Jonny. He teaches his daughter bullshit wisdoms, competes with the carpet and reaches in the end a pathetic, yet glamorous death, while drowning in his own monologues.
